LiDAR scanning and SLAM mobile mapping in Riyadh

Walk-through LiDAR scanning of buildings, sites, plants and corridors, delivered as measured point clouds, drawings and BIM, from our Riyadh office.

Why choose Mapalytics for LiDAR SLAM mobile mapping

  • Large sites, fast

The scanner maps continuously while our surveyor walks, so buildings, campuses and corridors are captured in hours rather than days.

  • Measured as-builts

Millions of LiDAR points give centimetre-level plans, sections and models of what is actually on site.

  • Where drones can't fly

Interiors, basements, plant rooms, shaded streets and restricted areas are mapped from the ground.

  • Data your team can use

Point clouds, DWG drawings and Revit or IFC models, in the formats your consultants and contractors already work with.

Mapalytics maps buildings, sites and corridors in Riyadh with LiDAR SLAM mobile mapping. Our surveyor walks the site with a handheld LiDAR scanner, and SLAM software turns the walk into one accurate, colourised point cloud that your designers, engineers and contractors can measure from.

Saudi projects move fast and cover large areas. A walk-through LiDAR survey captures a whole building, campus or street in a single visit, so your team works from measured data instead of old drawings or repeated site visits.

What we map with LiDAR SLAM

  • Existing buildings. As-built plans, sections and scan-to-BIM models before renovation, fit-out or handover.
  • Construction progress. Regular scans to check work against the design model and measure earthworks.
  • Campuses, districts and streets. Large built-up areas mapped from the ground, including shaded and covered spaces a drone can’t see.
  • Industrial plants and utilities. Pipe racks, equipment and structures captured for inspection and retrofit.
  • Heritage sites. Permanent digital records of historic buildings and districts, as we did for the Manama Souq digital double in Bahrain.

How a LiDAR scanning project works

  1. Scope. We agree the area, accuracy, deliverables and the software your team uses.
  2. Walk-through capture. Our team scans the site on foot, tied to project coordinates with GNSS where needed.
  3. Processing. The SLAM data is processed into a clean, registered point cloud and checked for accuracy.
  4. Modelling. We produce the drawings, BIM model, volumes or mesh you need.
  5. Delivery. You receive the files, plus a web viewer for everyone on the project.

FAQ

Common questions

What is SLAM mobile mapping?

SLAM (simultaneous localisation and mapping) lets a LiDAR scanner track its own position as it moves. Our surveyor walks the site with a handheld scanner, and the software builds one continuous, measured point cloud from the walk.

Do you do LiDAR surveys in Riyadh and other Saudi cities?

Yes. Our Saudi office is at The Garage in Riyadh, and we take on LiDAR scanning and survey projects in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Makkah, Madinah and elsewhere in the Kingdom.

How accurate is LiDAR SLAM scanning?

Mobile mapping delivers centimetre-level accuracy, which suits as-builts, floor plans, volumes and most scan-to-BIM work. For millimetre-level detail we add static terrestrial laser scanning. We agree the accuracy target before we start.

Can you scan occupied or operating buildings?

Yes. Walk-through scanning is quick and non-contact, so we plan capture around your operating hours with minimal disruption.

Which file formats do you deliver?

Point clouds in LAS/LAZ or E57, drawings in DWG, BIM models in Revit and IFC, and meshes in common 3D formats, matched to your team's software.
