Colourised LiDAR point cloud of an archaeological site, captured by SLAM mobile mapping

Capture

LiDAR scanning and SLAM mobile mapping in Pakistan

Handheld LiDAR scanners with SLAM capture whole buildings, sites and corridors in a single walk, as measured, colourised point clouds.

Why choose Mapalytics for LiDAR SLAM mobile mapping

  • A whole site in one walk

The scanner maps continuously while our surveyor walks, so large or complex sites are captured in hours rather than days.

  • Measured, not sketched

Millions of measured LiDAR points give centimetre-level floor plans, sections and models of what is actually there.

  • Reaches where drones can't

Interiors, basements, plant rooms, tree cover, narrow streets and trails are mapped from the ground, with no flight permission needed.

  • Ready for your software

Point clouds, drawings and BIM models delivered in the formats your CAD, BIM and GIS teams already use.

Mapalytics provides LiDAR scanning and SLAM mobile mapping across Pakistan, from Islamabad and Rawalpindi to Lahore, Karachi and Peshawar. Our surveyor walks the site with a handheld LiDAR scanner. It records millions of measured points as it moves, and SLAM software turns the walk into one accurate, colourised point cloud.

A LiDAR survey done this way is the fastest way to measure what is actually on the ground: a multi-storey building, a factory, an archaeological site or a kilometre of road, often captured in a single visit.

What we map with LiDAR SLAM

  • Buildings and interiors. As-built floor plans, sections and scan-to-BIM models for renovation, fit-out and facility management, including basements and plant rooms.
  • Construction sites. Regular scans to record progress, check work against the design and measure earthworks and stockpiles. See also construction monitoring.
  • Heritage and archaeological sites. Detailed, permanent records of ruins and monuments, building on our work at the Makli Necropolis with UNESCO.
  • Industrial plants. Pipe racks, equipment and structures mapped for inspection, clash checks and retrofit design.
  • Roads, streets and trails. LiDAR surveys of corridors, captured from the ground for design, utilities and asset records, including where trees or buildings block a drone’s view.
  • Parks and landscape. Terrain under tree cover, tree positions and heights, and paths for planning and management.

How a LiDAR scanning project works

  1. Scope. We agree the area, accuracy, deliverables and the software your team uses.
  2. Walk-through capture. Our surveyor scans the site on foot, and ties it to your coordinates with GNSS control where needed.
  3. Processing. The SLAM data is processed into a clean, registered point cloud and checked for accuracy.
  4. Modelling. We produce the drawings, BIM model, volumes or mesh you need.
  5. Delivery. You receive the files, plus a web viewer so everyone on the project can explore and measure the data.

FAQ

Common questions

What is SLAM mobile mapping?

SLAM (simultaneous localisation and mapping) lets a LiDAR scanner work out its own position as it moves. Our surveyor walks the site with a handheld scanner, and the software builds one continuous, measured point cloud from the walk, without setting up the scanner at each station.

How accurate is LiDAR SLAM scanning?

Mobile mapping delivers centimetre-level accuracy, which suits floor plans, as-builts, volumes and most scan-to-BIM work. Where a project needs millimetre-level detail, we combine it with static terrestrial laser scanning. We agree the accuracy target with you before we start.

LiDAR SLAM or drone survey, which do I need?

Drone photogrammetry is fastest for open land and roofs. LiDAR SLAM mobile mapping covers interiors, built-up streets, plant rooms and areas under trees, where a drone can't see. Many projects use both, and we recommend the right mix for your site.

Which file formats do you deliver?

Point clouds in LAS/LAZ or E57, drawings in DWG, BIM models in Revit and IFC, and meshes in common 3D formats. We match the software your team uses.

Do you do LiDAR surveys outside Islamabad and Rawalpindi?

Yes. We carry out LiDAR scanning and surveys across Pakistan, including Lahore, Karachi and Peshawar, and offer the same service in Saudi Arabia from our Riyadh office.
