Pakistan Movement
Pakistan Movement Gallery is approached from Arms and Armory Gallery through an upstairs passage. It is a photographic gallery of black and white photographs which represents key moments and figures of the Independence Movement, covering events from 1799 to 1947. The photographs in this gallery seeks to honour the lives and the services of both the pioneer and anonymous figures who contributed to the creation of Pakistan.
This gallery presents the struggle for a Muslim majority homeland in chronological sequence beginning from War of Plassey (1757) following with photographs documenting the Fall of Seringapatam (1799), the Faraizi Movement, the Aligarh Movement, the establishment of All India Muslim League, Khilafat Movement, the Lahore Resolution, the Indian Independence Act 1947 and the iconic images of migration. There is a special section that focuses on the life and achievements of Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal.
